Identify the size of Emerson butterfly valve. 2. Based on the size, choose the correct retrofit kit (599-10072, 599-10062, 599-10074 or 599-10073) and the appropriate Siemens A-Series industrial actuator from the table below. 3. Document No. A5W00172102 Installation Instructions July 20, 2021 Page 2 of 3 Prerequisites CAUTION: Shut off the line flow through the valve before proceeding. • Wear safety glasses and all other appropriate safety equipment before performing any of the listed tasks. • Remove existing actuator and all linkages from valve. • Clean dust and residue from valve stem and bonnet. • Ensure all components are present before assembly. • Thoroughly review these instructions before proceeding. Installation Assemble Kit to Valve Bracket Installation Mount the adapter bracket to the valve. Keep the nuts loose to help with actuator alignment. Coupler and Adapter Installation 1. Apply anti-seize lubricant to all contact surfaces of the couplers. 2. Assemble the applicable couplers on the valve stem. CAUTION: If the set screws are not properly aligned, damage may occur to the valve, the actuator or both when actuator is engaged. Assemble Actuator to Kit Actuator Stud Installation 1. Apply anti-seize lubricant to stud threads on the stud’s portion that contacts the actuator. 2. Fully thread the actuator mounting studs into the appropriate actuator mounting holes. Actuator Assembly Attach the actuator to valve assembly using the provided lock washers and nuts. Final Assembly Tighten all nuts. Installation is complete.
