Descriptions Line Reactor – Installed for Siemens BT300 Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) when drives are located close to the building's incoming power source, such as a substation where incoming spikes and other transients may damage the drive due to low impedance. Install a line reactor at the input of each drive to help counteract line spiking and nuisance faults that could cause the drive to shut down. In addition, adding input line reactors may reduce harmonic current and protect sensitive equipment. The addition of the line reactor to the BT300 lowers the input current Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and peak diode current that the drive receives. Load Reactor – Install on the drive output to dampen overshoot peak voltage, and reduce motor heating and audible noise.
